About Us

The Mission, Vision, Core Values and Core beliefs of St. Paul Lutheran Church are:

Mission

Living and Sharing God's Love

Beloved, let us love one another, because love is from God. I John 4:7a

Vision of St. Paul Lutheran Church

We live and share our faith in Jesus Christ by:

Core Beliefs

Teach what is consistent with sound doctrine. Titus 2:1b
    1) We believe that the Good News of Jesus is the center of the Scriptures, our faith, and our preaching.

For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in
him may not perish but may have eternal life. John 3:16

    2) We believe and teach that we are “justified by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.”

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God not the result of works, so that no one may boast. Ephesians 2:8-9

    3) We believe the Scriptures are the inspired and authoritative Word of God for us.

Jesus answered him, "Those who love me will keep my word, and my Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.” John 14:23

    4) We believe Jesus invites us to follow him and commands us to tell others about him.

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. Matthew 28:19-20a

    5) We believe that the sacraments, Holy Baptism and Holy Communion, are central to our life.

The one who believes and is baptized will be saved; but the one who does not believe will be condemned. Mark 16:16

For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. 1 Corinthians 11:26

    6) We believe that the most accurate summary of our theology is The Small Catechism.

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one that has been laid; that foundation is Jesus Christ. 1 Corinthians 3:11

Core Values

Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly; teach and admonish one another in all wisdom; and with gratitude in your hearts sing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. And whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Colossians 3:16-17

1) We value worship, through praise and song, to God as the center of our congregational life.

O come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before the LORD, our Maker!
For he is our God, and we are the people of his pasture, and the sheep of his hand.
Psalm 95:6, 7

2) We value learning and deepening our faith through Christian education for all ages.

Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path. Psalm 119:105

3) We value following Jesus by serving others, using the gifts God has given us.

There are different kinds of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are different kinds of service, but the same Lord. There are different kinds of working, but the same God works all of them in all men. I Corinthians 12:4-7 NIV

4) We value being a family in Christ where each person knows that he or she is loved and belongs.

I give you a new commandment, that you love one another. Just as I have loved you, you also should love one another. By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35
